Product Differentiation

What Separates This SKU from the Examination-Grade Green

The green nitrile gloves in our range split into two distinct products: a medical-grade examination glove at 0.08–0.10mm palm thickness, and this one — the industrial variant, running 0.12–0.15mm at the palm and 0.15–0.18mm at the fingertip. That's not a minor spec difference. At 0.12mm minimum, you're in a different puncture-resistance class than examination grade, and the textured fingertip is standard rather than optional.

The reason we produce both is that the buyer segments don't overlap much. The examination-grade green moves through laboratory, clinical, and food-contact distribution channels where tactile sensitivity is the primary spec driver. This product — the industrial variant — gets specified in chemical processing facilities, automotive assembly plants, and facilities management programs where the glove needs to survive contact with oils, solvents, and mechanical abrasion without failing mid-task.

Color coding is the other reason this SKU exists as a separate product. Industrial safety programs that assign glove colors by department, task type, or chemical exposure zone need a glove that's visually distinct and durable enough for the application. Green is a common assignment in those programs — often paired with orange or blue for a two- or three-color system. If your buyer is running a color-coded safety program, they need the industrial gauge, not the examination gauge, regardless of color.

Where This Glove Gets Specified — and Why It's a Repeatable Segment

Four buyer segments drive the majority of industrial green nitrile volume. Each one has a structural reason to reorder — not just a one-time need.

Chemical Processing & Manufacturing

Facilities running color-coded PPE programs assign specific glove colors to specific chemical exposure zones — green for one chemical class, orange for another. The industrial gauge handles light solvent and oil contact that would degrade an examination-grade glove within minutes.

Safety distributors supplying these facilities sell by program, not by box — once a plant has standardized on green for a specific zone, the reorder is automatic and the volume is predictable.

Account size indicator

A mid-size chemical plant running 200 workers on a color-coded program: 50,000–100,000 gloves annually.

Automotive Assembly

Worker on automotive assembly line wearing green industrial nitrile gloves while handling greased components

Assembly line workers handling greased components, light lubricants, and mechanical parts need grip and puncture resistance simultaneously. The textured fingertip on this glove maintains grip on oily surfaces — a smooth-finish glove at the same gauge doesn't perform the same way in that environment.

Automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers typically run centralized safety supply procurement, meaning a single distributor relationship can cover multiple plants. The color-coding requirement is usually what locks in the spec across a multi-site program.

Facilities Management & Janitorial Supply

Building services contractors running large commercial or institutional accounts — hospitals, universities, government facilities — often operate color-coded cleaning protocols where glove color indicates the zone being cleaned. Green is a common assignment for general-purpose or outdoor zones in those systems.

Facilities management distributors supplying these contractors deal in high-frequency, predictable reorders because the color assignment is written into the cleaning protocol, not left to individual worker preference.

Industrial Safety Distributors

If you're a safety distributor looking to move up from commodity blue nitrile into program-based selling, color-coded industrial gloves are one of the cleaner entry points. The conversation shifts from "what's your price per box" to "what colors does your safety program require" — and that's a conversation where you can hold margin.

Two-color program entry point

Green industrial nitrile paired with orange industrial nitrile covers the two-color program that most facilities start with.

Gauge Selection: Why 0.12–0.15mm Is the Industrial Standard

We get asked occasionally whether examination-grade gloves can substitute for industrial grade in light-duty applications to reduce cost. The honest answer: sometimes, for a while, until they can't.

Cross-section comparison of industrial gauge 0.12–0.15mm versus examination grade nitrile glove wall thickness

The failure mode explained

The failure mode isn't dramatic — it's cumulative micro-punctures from repeated contact with rough surfaces, metal edges, and abrasive materials. An examination-grade glove at 0.08–0.10mm will pass a pinhole test when it leaves our facility.

After 20 minutes on an assembly line, it may not.

Wall Thickness & Abrasion Resistance

The industrial gauge at 0.12–0.15mm has enough wall thickness to absorb abrasion without compromising barrier integrity across a full work shift. Examination grade is adequate for incidental contact — industrial gauge is adequate for sustained contact.

Chemical Permeation Resistance

Nitrile's resistance to oils and light solvents is a function of both compound formulation and wall thickness. At examination gauge, permeation resistance is adequate for incidental contact. At industrial gauge, it holds up under the sustained contact that actually occurs in chemical processing and automotive environments.

Compound formulation note

We run the industrial-grade compound at a slightly higher acrylonitrile (ACN) content than our examination-grade formulation. Higher ACN content improves chemical resistance at the cost of a small reduction in elongation-at-break.

That trade-off is intentional and appropriate for the application. Higher chemical resistance is the correct priority for industrial environments.

Color Consistency Across Your Reorder Program

The category page covers our in-house compounding lab and color consistency process in detail — read the full explanation here. The short version for this product: the green pigment is introduced at the compound stage, not applied as a surface treatment, and the compound specification is locked per color SKU.

For industrial color-coding programs, color consistency between reorders isn't a cosmetic concern — it's a safety protocol concern. If the green gloves in your Q3 shipment are a noticeably different shade than the Q1 shipment, the workers running the color-coded program have a legitimate question about whether the right glove is being used in the right zone.

We use spectrophotometer measurement against a physical color standard before approving each production run, so the green your customer approved in the initial order is the green they receive on every reorder.

We've had industrial buyers come to us specifically because a previous supplier's color drifted between orders and created a safety audit finding. That's an avoidable problem when the compound spec is locked and the QC process is consistent.

Compliance

Certifications and Compliance Coverage

This product carries CE marking and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 quality management. ASTM D6319 compliance covers the North American industrial and examination glove market. Full documentation — CE declaration of conformity, internal test reports for the specific production lot — is available on request and ships with sample orders.

For industrial applications, ASTM D6319 is the relevant standard for nitrile examination and industrial gloves in the US market. CE marking covers European market entry. If your distribution channel requires additional market-specific documentation — REACH compliance statements, material safety data, or specific country import certifications — confirm at inquiry and we'll advise on what's available.

The accelerator-free option on this SKU is relevant if you're supplying industrial accounts with documented Type IV latex allergy policies. Accelerator-free compound eliminates the thiuram and carbamate accelerators that trigger Type IV reactions — increasingly a procurement requirement in European industrial and healthcare-adjacent accounts.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOQ for green industrial nitrile gloves?

One 40HQ container — approximately 2,000 boxes at standard industrial-grade packing density. For private-label packaging or custom color shade development, the same one-container minimum applies. Sample orders are available before full container commitment and ship within 5–7 business days.

What's the difference between green industrial nitrile gloves and green examination nitrile gloves?

Wall thickness and compound formulation. The industrial variant runs 0.12–0.15mm at the palm versus 0.08–0.10mm for examination grade. The industrial compound uses higher acrylonitrile content for improved chemical resistance, at the cost of slightly lower elongation-at-break (≥450% vs. ≥500%). Textured fingertip is standard on the industrial SKU. If your application involves sustained contact with oils, solvents, or abrasive surfaces, specify industrial grade. If tactile sensitivity is the primary requirement (clinical, food-contact), specify examination grade.

Can green industrial nitrile gloves be used in chemical handling applications?

For light to moderate chemical exposure — oils, greases, light solvents, dilute acids and bases — yes. Nitrile provides good resistance to petroleum-based chemicals and many common industrial solvents. For concentrated acids, ketones, or highly polar solvents, nitrile permeation resistance is limited regardless of gauge. If your buyer's application involves specific chemical exposure, we can provide permeation resistance data for the relevant chemical classes. Don't specify any single-use nitrile glove for prolonged immersion in aggressive solvents.

How do you maintain color consistency between reorders for industrial color-coding programs?

Pigment is sourced from a single approved supplier per color with incoming batch testing against our color standard. Compound is mixed in-house to a locked viscosity specification. Every production run is checked against a physical color standard using spectrophotometer measurement before the run is approved. The locked compound spec is pulled for every reorder — no reformulation between orders unless you request a change.

What certifications do green industrial nitrile gloves carry?

CE marking, ISO 9001:2015, and ASTM D6319. Full documentation — CE declaration of conformity and internal test reports for the specific production lot — is available on request. For market-specific compliance requirements (REACH, country-specific import certifications), confirm at inquiry.

Is an accelerator-free option available for industrial-grade green nitrile gloves?

Yes. The accelerator-free compound is available at the same industrial gauge and thickness specification. This eliminates thiuram and carbamate accelerators associated with Type IV contact dermatitis — relevant if you're supplying accounts with documented allergy policies or European industrial procurement requirements that specify accelerator-free PPE. No MOQ change for this option.
